Our Community Groups

Beverley Cherry Tree Community Centre plays an important role in the community. Part of our local presence comes from our community groups.

Youth Club

Volunteen Plus is a new project funded by the National Lottery and run by the East Riding Voluntary Action Services Ltd. The project aims to offer additional support to young people who live in East Riding to increase life skills, by introducing them to new and enjoyable social activities. In conjunction with Volunteen Plus, the Beverley Cherry Tree Community Centre runs a Youth Club every Monday evening 6pm-8pm for 10–18 year-olds. Entry fee: £1.

Ladies Group

The Ladies Group have just celebrated their 10th anniversary since it was set up by a social work student who was on placement at the centre. Ladies meet every Monday from 1.30pm-3pm. You can enjoy a quiz, raffle and a beautician who comes in once a month to offer free beauty treatments. The ladies are always keen to have a guest speaker, so if you would like to come and talk to the Ladies Group please let us know.

Stroke Club

On the last Thursday of every month the centre runs a group for survivors of a stroke. Carers are welcome to attend. The group have a lunch, raffle, guest speakers and occasional outings. Stroke Club starts from 1pm-3pm. Please ring the centre on (01482) 871993 to request place.
